At Broadoaks British School, the Art Department is crucial in nurturing young pupils' creativity and self-expression. 
We offer a vibrant curriculum that includes drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art, allowing students to explore various mediums and techniques. 
The department emphasizes the development of foundational skills, such as color theory, composition, and fine motor abilities, while encouraging personal expression and imaginative thinking.

The core curriculum for the Art and Design department at Broadoaks British School is typically structured around various key stages, each with specific learning objectives and outcomes.

  • Key Stage 1 (Ages 5-7)

Exploration and Basic Skills, Skills Development, Creativity, Artistic Knowledge, Projects, etc.

  • Key Stage 2 (Ages 7-11)

Building on Skills and Understanding, Advanced Techniques, Critical Thinking, Art History, Integrated Learning, Projects, etc. 

  • Key Stage 3 (Ages 11-14)

Record observations, develop ideas, Explore themes & concepts, Critique & analyze artworks, etc.

Our pupils have participated in two global art competitions specifically the Arts University of Bournemouth England (2022, 2023).
