Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum


The Early Years Foundation Stage is a critical period in our early learners’ educational journey, spanning from Day Care to Reception (3 months to 5 years). Our curriculum is thoughtfully crafted to inspire a love for learning, creativity, and exploration while laying the foundation for future academic success. The Early Years curriculum is actively functional under our Early Years school -Teenee Todds Day Nursery.
Our Early Years Foundational Stage is based on the British curriculum (EYFS) framework, which sets the standards for learning and development for children from birth to 5 years of age. Our curriculum covers the seven areas of learning which are grouped into

1. Prime Areas

Communication and Language
Physical Development
Personal, Social, and Emotional Development

2. Specific Areas

Literacy
Mathematics
Understanding the World
Expressive Arts and Design

Learning Objectives

Our curriculum is designed to achieve the following learning objectives:

  • Develop a strong foundation in communication and language, literacy, and numeracy skills.
  • Encourage creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking.
  • Foster social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Build confidence, independence, and self-esteem.
  • Prepare students for a smooth transition to Key Stage 1.

Teaching and Learning


Our experienced and qualified teachers  can effectively support and nurture the learning and development of children through differentiated teaching methods and use a variety of resources to
deliver our curriculum, including:

- Play-based learning
- Hands-on activities
- Storytelling and role-play
- Music, movement, and drama
- Technology integration

Assessment

We continually assess our early learners’ progress through observation, feedback, and regular parent-teacher conferences.
